United Prairie, LLC was organized and formed in 1996 when Grand Prairie COOP and Unity Grain, which has since merged with the Bement Grain Company to form the Topflight Grain COOP, decided to combine their fertilizer and chemical divisions and resources in order to better serve area growers. Then in early 1997 the Monticello Grain Company, joined the parent companies, by adding their fertilizer and chemical resources to United Prairie.

Today United Prairie, LLC has four locations in East Central Illinois. Each facility supplies area growers with many of the crop inputs and services that are needed for agricultural production today.

These agronomic products and services include fertilizer, seed, chemicals for crop protection, custom application of fertilizers and chemicals, variable rate application of fertilizer and lime, GIS services, soil sampling, yield mapping, and crop scouting.

• Seed - United Prairie is a retailer for Dekalb, Asgrow, Stine, and Pioneer brands of seed. We have a seed specialist who is solely dedicated to helping growers select a seed hybrid or variety that will perform well in each of your fields.
• Fertilizer - United Prairie offers bulk dry blended or straight fertilizers, 28 % nitrogen solution, various starter fertilizers, and anhydrous ammonia. We also have toolbars that are available to growers for applying 28% nitrogen and anhydrous ammonia.
• Crop Protection - At United Prairie we sell and service all of the major brands of crop protection chemicals. We also have an experienced staff of Certified Crop Advisors/Sales Agronomists to help decide which chemicals will work the best and be the most cost effective for each individual grower.
• Custom Application - We have an experienced team of operators that can custom apply your crop protection chemicals, and/or fertilizers using our GPS equipped floaters and sprayers. Our custom application also includes our team of custom anhydrous ammonia applicators that are ready to serve your ammonia needs in the spring or fall.
• Variable Rate Fertilizer and Lime - Using one of our VRT machines we can spread your fields with precise application of different prescribed rates of fertilizer and lime in the areas where they are needed.
• GIS Services (Yield Mapping, GPS Services, etc.) - At United Prairie we can help you analyze your soil fertility, yield data, and soil types to customize the placement of your field inputs. We can also use our GPS equipment to map out your tile lines, field boundaries, determine field acreages, etc.
• Crop Scouting - We also offer crop-scouting services on a weekly or bi-weekly schedule. Through the crop-scouting program a trained United Prairie representative will take the time to monitor the weed, insect, and disease conditions of your crops all season long.
