As Harvest Winds Down, We Gear Up
As harvest winds down in our area, most of you have reported good yields for both corn and beans. I know some corn hybrids did go down in the high winds we had. Bean harvest was also slow going for some as we saw quite a few beans with green stem syndrome. Overall, however, it was a productive year.
The off-and-on rains have limited our dry application, but the open fall is giving us the chance to catch up on that. The fact we’re running 10 dry machines this fall as opposed to eight last year is helping. We’ve also been running hard on ammonia.
Our mild weather has also allowed us to cover a lot more fall burndown acres than we were able to the past couple of years. We’re seeing more of you each year using fall application to help control resistant weeds, reduce the seedbank and give yourself a bigger application window in the event of a wet spring.
We continue to cover more of your acres each year; and we thank you for choosing us. We look forward to working with you in 2017.
